What We Do
Design
Utilizes appropriate design and preservation concepts to enhance the visual quality of the district including buildings, signs, window displays, landscaping and environment.
Mission
Central City Mainstreet nurtures the historic downtown through the cooperation of local government, volunteers, businesses and the Central City Mainstreet organization.
Over the past 35 years, the National Main Street Center has led the development of a national network of over 2,000 historic downtowns and neighborhood commercial districts: Main Street America™.
Organization
With coordination by our executive director, Organization brings together the community – including the public sector, private groups and individuals to work together to drive the Central City Mainstreet program.
The mission of the Main Street Iowa Program is to improve the social and economic well-being of Iowa's communities by assisting selected communities to capitalize on the unique identity, assets and character of their historic commercial district.
